The urge to put thought to paper captures writers. I write notes at bus stops, in restaurants, even at the movies - a piece of conversation, a fresh perspective on an idea, a scene that reminds me of an old friend. Sometimes, poetry comes out.

Over the years, I've found writing poetry highly therapeutic. Putting words to the page purges out dark emotions and gives expression to carefree, happy ones. It begins with a feeling and goes from there. Catharsis happens somewhere between start and finish.

Here are a few poetic expressions - enjoy!
